Downstream of Svaliava the riverbed gets wider, there are some gentle rapids, more settlements along its banks and the forests become increasingly squeezed out by orchards. Downstream of Mukachevo the Latorica transforms itself into a calm river with occasional gentle rapids.

The entire journey from Kychorka to Chop is nearly 150 km. The most complicated and interesting section (to Svaliava) is only navigable in April-May or when the river is in flood stage.
There are many historical and cultural landmarks along this route: Shenborn Castle (10th century) in Chynadiyovo, as well as the Palanok fortress (14 century) and the Bilyi Dim (White House) (18th century).
