The 75 km long Aggitis River is the main tributary of the Strymonas River. It is located in Northern Greece, in the picturesque area of Serres and Drama. This is a terrific rafting destination. Paddlers can enjoy exhilarating rafting and unique flora only an hour away from Thessaloniki.
The river offers two sections for rafters. The first is fairly calm and therefore suitable for those traveling with children. The second is for experienced rafters who are looking for an adventure. It is rated as Class II-III. The area lends itself to a variety of extreme sports such as canyoning or caving. You can include an exploratory excursion to the 21 km long Aggitis cave which is a short 20 minute drive from Drama.
