Each year this adventurous family continues the journey from the point at which they finished it the previous year.
That was our second time. That time we almost reached Hotyn Castle. Next summer it will be Dnister Reservoir.
Yaroslav, the head of the family, is a professional photographer; most of the photos presented here were taken by him.

One of the funniest journeys! Amazing overnight party!
Nastia, our best instructor, brought her charming friends from Russia.
Luckily, there was Ivan, his amazing photos caught these wonderful moments.
08.09, 4-days, the South African team
Hennie and Katy, the most easy-going and intellectual team! A smooth and relaxing journey! We are always glad to explore new Ukrainian rivers with you guys! No crocodiles and Victorian falls unfortunately, but…
05.09, the Ukrainian team
That was the most extreme journey in 2009! The craziest team we ever had! The river is not a touristic one, because of its fast current and lots of obstacles on the way. But these guys already requested something cooler for the next season! Cheremosh? Prut? I am proud of you, guys!

I would call this the funniets ever “pub-rowing” journey. We usually don’t drink during rafting but there are no restrictions at a picnic site after the journey. I thought I bought enough beer for 12 English men. Surprisingly, they had already brought nearly the same amount with them. Well, we ran out of fuel in half an hour! Fortunately, there was a pub nearby (probably the only one in the entire wilderness of Ukrainian Carpathians). After the rafting we spent 4 happy days together in L’viv; most of the time crawling between the pubs, of course
Thank you guys so much for those happy days! Nastia, I am sure, joins me in my thanks!

“July 27-28, 2008. Heavy rainfalls in the Carpathian Mountains of western Ukraine pushed the Dnister and Prut rivers over their banks. This flooding, according to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, was the worst the region had experienced in decades.”
But there were some advantages also. For example, no need to walk to our hotel – we simply rowed through flooded town of Galych.
This amazing river is full of danger, but, unfortunately, it is possible to catch high water only after rainfalls! The shots were made during different periods; some of them were taken at the competitions.
